Laughing Lady from Meyers.

In the 1930s, Laffing Sal (also known as Beulah the Laffing Lady) came to Meyers Lake. She was made by the Old King Cole Company in Louisville, Ohio and stood at the entrance of the Laff-in-the-Dark ride. Many residents of Canton recall stealing a kiss or two on that ride as Laffing Sal cackled non-stop. According to local legend, the manufacturer took a retired opera singer out on the town, got her drunk, and told her “off-color” jokes until she was in hysterics. They secretly recorded her laughter and used it to animate the Laffing Lady. She has been on display in the Stark County Story exhibit since 2009.
