McKinley Ribbon

After President McKinley was assassinated in Buffalo, New York, his body was brought to Washington D.C. where thousands of citizens paid their respects. After the funeral procession in D.C., his body was brought back to Canton, Ohio. On September 19, 1901 he was laid to rest at the Wertz Receiving Vault in Canton’s West Lawn Cemetery. This black ribbon badge has a paper print of him on the front and in silver lettering says “The Nation Mourns, Canton, Ohio- Sept. 19, 1901”. This badge was printed and sold by the Roller Printing & Paper Company, Canton, Ohio.
