A Constellation of Objects

This exhibition will connect constellations in the night sky to artifacts in our permanent collection!

April 11, 2024 – October 26, 2024: Don’t miss this unique collaboration between the Hoover-Price Planetarium and the Collections Department!

When ancient people looked up into the Night Sky, they saw a wondrous array of images that were often associated with mythology in their culture. Today those traditions have been handed down and serve as a guide to the celestial world. We have chosen artifacts that represent the constellations and their stories for this special Keller Gallery exhibition. People around the world didn’t see the same things when they gazed at the stars. We have include constellations from other cultures to provide a glimpse into another place and time. This alternative view of the constellations has allowed us to choose even more amazing artifacts from our collection to share with you.
