McKinley Presidential Library & Museum to Open for MLK Jr. Day

The McKinley Presidential Library & Museum will be open on Monday, January 17, 2022 from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. These special open hours are in honor of Martin Luther King Jr Day.

In addition to being open, the museum will have a talk at 10:00 am from Education Director, Ally Carlson, about presidential pets for all to enjoy. Did you know that out of our 45 presidents, all but three have had pets? And while many dogs, cats, and horses have lived at the White House, there have been many more unusual pets, too, like a raccoon! This program is free with admission.

The planetarium will be offering a special day of shows as well! The planetarium schedule is as follows:

Cosmic Kids • 11:00 & 11:30
Constellations, planets, light show, and music.
Approximately 15 minutes. Great for ages 3 & up.

Universe at Large • 1:00 & 2:00
Monthly highlights, latest news, and night sky tour.
Approximately 30 minutes. Ages 7 & up.
