McKinley Presidential Library & Museum to Present Virtual Program “Talkin’ Trash”

The McKinley Presidential Library & Museum will present “Talkin’ Trash,” a virtual program, on Thursday June 17 at 6:00 PM with Science Director Lynette Reiner.

Everyone creates and throws out trash, but where does it go? Did you know that a type of dump existed called Piggeries? Bet you never knew that a garbage barge floated the Atlantic for months with no place to go.

Those topics will be discussed along with many more interesting garbage stories.

The program will be held on Global Garbage Man Day. The cost is $10 per person. Reservation deadline is Monday June 14. Visit https://mckinleymuseum.org/product/virtual-program-talkin-trash/ to sign up.

The McKinley Presidential Library & Museum is located at 800 McKinley Monument Dr NW in Canton. The Keller Gallery is the Museum’s temporary exhibition space and features a variety of topics each year. The Museum also includes the McKinley National Memorial, McKinley Gallery, Street of Shops, The Stark County Story, Discover World, Ramsayer Research Library, and the Hoover-Price Planetarium. The Museum is open Tuesday – Saturday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The Museum is closed Sunday and Monday.
