New Exhibit Women at Work to Open at McKinley Museum

Canton, Ohio… A new exhibit, Women at Work, will open on Thursday, April 13 with a free reception from 6 – 7:30 PM at the McKinley Museum. Over the past 200 years, women have worked in a variety of professions, ranging from engraving pocket watches at Dueber-Hampden to building components for the war effort in our community’s factories in the 1940s — and everything in between! Using images and artifacts from our collection, Women at Work explores the jobs and careers that women have held.  Each panel in the exhibition will explore the history of women in that field, including profiles of local women wherever possible.

The McKinley Presidential Library & Museum is located at 800 McKinley Monument Dr NW in Canton. The Keller Gallery is the Museum’s temporary exhibition space and features a variety of topics each year. The Museum also includes the McKinley National Memorial, McKinley Gallery, Street of Shops, The Stark County Story, Discover World, Ramsayer Research Library, and the Hoover-Price Planetarium. The Museum is open Tuesday – Saturday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The Museum is closed Sunday and Monday.
