SPEAKERS BUREAU TOPIC

Did you know Canton was the scene of some serious organized crime in the Roaring Twenties?  Publisher Don Mellett was gunned down outside his home after using the pages of the Canton Daily News to expose the underworld.  Learn about the strange twists and turns of the murder trial that followed. This program now features information from the popular Keller Gallery exhibition “Footloose & Fancy Free: Canton in the Roaring Twenties.”

This program is based on Kim’s book Canton:  A Journey Through Time.  Choose from a variety of themes exploring the unique history of Canton.  All lectures are illustrated with slides of vintage photos of Canton, from the Museum’s collection.  The fee is $50 per program.
