McKinley Presidential Library & Museum to Open Special Hours for Presidents’ Day

The McKinley Museum will be open on Monday, February 19 in honor of Presidents’ Day. Museum hours are 9 AM – 4 PM. The Keller Gallery Exhibit, Habitat, will be on view. Developed by Smithsonian Gardens and made available by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES), Habitat will be on display through March 30, 2024.

The exhibit invites visitors to learn more about topics related to habitats, their importance to life and what people can do to help preserve them. Sections on topics such as fungi, dead wood, nests and insects explore the critical role that many organisms play in creating and sustaining habitats, and how people can best protect them.

Other activities include the Cosmic Kids planetarium show at 11 and 11:30 AM and Universe at Large at 1 and 2 PM. At 10 AM get ready for the Turtle Parade! Meet our box turtles and sliders! Learn all about these shelled reptiles and their “slow and steady” lifestyles in water and on land. The Gift Shoppe will be open from 10 – 3:45 PM and is offering free coloring pages and a word search to all guests.
